Hi, I am Kaori Ogawa―a New York-based Interaction Designer and UX Researcher from Japan, crafting multimodal experiences that reveal new ways of sensing and relating.

After graduating as the valedictorian with a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tokyo, I worked as a management consultant in Tokyo and am currently pursuing an MFA in Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design.

My work integrates visual, auditory, and olfactory information to explore new modes of human-nonhuman relation.

In previous projects, I have collaborated closely with Human-Computer Interaction researchers, a professional composer, architects, and craftspeople―analyzing the theme, deciding how each medium can express the concept and engage the audience, and integrating these components into a single project to shape the final form.

My work was exhibited at Ars Electronica 2025 Campus Exhibition where I received a Campus Award Honorary Mention (an award given to the top five works selected from over 150 pieces), and at Dutch Design Week 2025. I also received Student Research Award 2025 from The New School (Parsons School of Design), William Randolph Hearst Scholarship 2025-26, and was part of the inaugural cohort of the Setouchi Triennale Young Artist Program.
